Network Technician - IT Operations Engineering & Support

About the Position: Wynn Al Marjan Island is currently seeking a Network Technician to join the IT Infrastructure team. The primary duties and responsibilities of this role are: Install, maintain, and troubleshoot network cabling infrastructure, including fiber optic and CAT6 copper cabling Perform fiber optic and cable splicing, termination, testing, and certification activities Install and support network hardware such as switches, routers, wireless access points, and related equipment Conduct preventive maintenance and repairs on network infrastructure and connectivity systems Troubleshoot network, cabling, and connectivity issues and perform corrective actions Perform fiber and copper cable testing using industry-standard testing equipment Maintain accurate records of installations, testing results, and maintenance activities Follow safety procedures and support network deployment projects across the property Work closely with IT teams, contractors, and vendors during installations and upgrades About You: The ideal candidate for this position will have the following experience and qualifications: Minimum 2 years of experience in structured cabling, fiber optic installation, network support, or telecommunications environments Strong experience with CAT6 cable installation, termination, testing, troubleshooting, and certification Hands-on experience in fiber optic splicing, termination, and testing of Single Mode (SM) and Multi-Mode (MM) networks Proficiency in using fiber and cable testing equipment, including OTDRs, power meters, and Fluke certification tools, with a basic understanding of LAN/WAN networking concepts Ability to read network diagrams and installation drawings, troubleshoot issues effectively, and possess relevant certifications such as CCNA, Network+, or FOA CFOT (preferred) Must be physically fit and capable of performing day-to-day field duties, including standing for extended periods, climbing ladders, working in ceiling spaces, pulling and dressing cables, and carrying tools and equipment Must be able to safely lift and move equipment and materials required for network and cabling installations About Wynn Al Marjan Island’s Benefits: We offer an attractive salary, paid in Dirhams (AED), the local currency of the UAE.
