Role Overview

Firewall and Network Security

• Review firewall configurations across zones, on-premises environments, OT/ICS, and cloud clusters.
• Audit rules for overly permissive or obsolete entries, apply optimizations, and implement a default-deny policy.
• Assess segmentation between zones and enforce access controls using ACLs.
• Document allowed services, ports, legitimate traffic flows, and authorized traffic restrictions.
• Integrate firewall logs with the SIEM and establish periodic firewall and ACL configuration reviews.
• Ensure changes comply with NCA, ISO, NIST, and relevant global standards.

Communication Matrix

• Identify and document communication paths between production environments, development environments, and other segments.
• Cover approximately 70 application, database, network, infrastructure, and information-security solutions as applicable.
• Include source, destination, application ports, protocols, justification, version, and approval date.
