Provide the site with the necessary items to operate daily; including orders for min/max stores related items, service providers, outside contractors, emergency purchases, and routine administrative while coordinating inventories to minimize investment, obsolescence and other costs.
Procure all non-inventory items, MRO supplies, Capital Equipment, Maintenance and Service Contracts, Bulk Gases, Chemicals, and all outsourcing agreements.
Provide sources of supplies for employees to aid in determining their needs
Review inventory levels, adjust safety stocks and adjust min./max. levels to maintain adequate levels of supplies and materials.
Issue requests for bids/quotations to ensure competitive quoting process is adhered to
Evaluate competitive offerings and determine overall best offer for a product or service
Implement and maintain standardization programs
Identify and or select potential sources of supply
Coordinate all returns and repairs
Act as liaison between vendors and production for faulty supplies

Determine disposition of faulty supplies
Track costs associated with defective materials and charge back suppliers
Conduct follow-up and expedite activities

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required to frequently sit and talk or hear. The employee will also occasionally stand, walk and use hands and fingers. There will be occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds
Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school or 1-2 years manufacturing buying experience in a plant environment is a plus.
