What you will do

  • The Instrumentation & Controls Engineer (EIT) is responsible for a range of duties and accountabilities, including but not limited to the following:
  • Scope of responsibility
  • Guide development of projects at pipeline and terminal facilities.
  • Review field device specifications for accuracy & applicability
  • Guide development of process control network to ensure compliance with Industrial Control System Requiremens
  • Review drawings for compliance with standards and industry best practices
  • Provide I&C support to field operations sites and aid in troubleshooting operational issues (onsite or remotely)
  • Reports to Field Engineering Lead
  • Key accountabilities
  • PLC Programming and maintenance
  • Maintain technical drawings (Network architecture for process control networks)
  • Develop procedures for installing, configuring and calibrating field equipment
  • Obtain & restore back-ups for field devices
  • Review and documented changes to network connections and support the review/approval process
  • The Field Engineer (EIT) is responsible for a range of duties and accountabilities, including but not limited to the following:
  • Provide day to day, multi-discipline technical assistance and support to CFO sites and departments across Western Canada
  • Support efforts to optimize assets through small projects and field changes and improve reliability through equipment maintenance strategies
  • Provide oversight of detailed engineering consultants including review and approval of drawings and technical specifications.
  • Primary technical contact for an operating area
  • Maintaining and updating technical drawings and documents
  • Supporting development of projects and initiatives that create business value by optimizing assets
  • Engaging senior engineers and other technical experts as needed to resolve issues
  • About you
  • Skills and Qualification
  • Engineering degree from an accredited university (Bachelor or Masters) with the ability to register as an EIT in Canada
  • To be considered for employment, your most recent unofficial transcript(s) must be submitted with your application
  • Preferred Skills and Experience/Qualifications
  • Demonstrated interest in Instrumentation and Controls engineering and/or operations support
  • Basic IT security and controls knowledge
  • Clear communications, interpersonal and issues resolution skills in a diverse team environment
  • Efficient planning, organizational and decision-making skills while influencing various stakeholders
  • Adaptable to changing priorities (may include availability outside of regular working hours/weekends/holidays to solve urgent operational issues)
  • Ability and willingness to travel across Canada for field activities
  • Midstream or Pipeline experience is appreciated but not mandatory
  • Valid driver's license and safe driving record
  • Start date: 2027
