Deloitte's Artificial Intelligence and Engineering team builds, deploys, and operates software, data, AI, network, and hybrid cloud solutions.
The Software Engineer II joins the Engineering as a Service team to modernize technology and deliver engineering-led solutions for clients.
Work You Will Do
- Design, develop, and maintain backend applications, microservices, and APIs using Java, Spring Boot, and Node.js.
- Translate business and technical requirements into scalable service designs, data access patterns, and API specifications.
- Troubleshoot production issues, improve performance, and support secure and reliable service delivery.
- Develop unit and integration tests, participate in code reviews, and support CI/CD practices.
- Collaborate with product, quality assurance, platform, and engineering teams on planning and delivery.
- Implement Node.js integrations, authentication, authorization, performance, reliability, and observability patterns.
- Participate in on-call or incident response when applicable and produce technical documentation.
Required Qualifications
- 4–7 years of hands-on Java 8+ and backend engineering experience.
- Strong object-oriented design, clean coding, refactoring, and backend architecture skills.
- Strong understanding of microservices, Spring Boot, RESTful APIs, Spring Security, Spring Cloud, persistence, SQL or NoSQL, and ORM or JPA.
- Proven testing, troubleshooting, debugging, performance analysis, and production issue resolution skills.
- 4–7 years of hands-on Node.js experience with RESTful APIs or GraphQL services.
- Bachelor of Engineering, Bachelor of Technology, Master of Computer Applications, or Master of Science in Computer Science from an accredited university.
- Strong communication, client collaboration, ownership, and cross-functional teamwork skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Node.js Certified Associate certification.
- Experience working in Agile, Scrum, or Scaled Agile Framework delivery environments.
- Experience with iterative delivery activities such as sprint planning, estimation, reviews, and retrospectives.
Schedule and Locations
- The role may be based in Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai, or Pune.
- Shift timings are 11 AM to 8 PM or 2 PM to 11 PM IST according to business requirements.
