Artelia is seeking an experienced Electrical and Mechanical Team Leader to coordinate multidisciplinary engineering activities across infrastructure projects, including water and wastewater work.
The role manages engineering teams, provides technical leadership, allocates resources, reviews deliverables, coordinates with clients and disciplines, and supports delivery to quality, programme, and budget requirements.
Leadership and Delivery
- Lead and manage electrical and mechanical engineering teams across multiple projects.
- Plan resources according to project priorities, workloads, and delivery schedules.
- Provide technical guidance to design engineers.
- Review and approve calculations, reports, specifications, datasheets, drawings, schedules, and Bills of Quantities.
- Monitor progress, deliverables, man-hours, resource needs, and project risks.
- Participate in client meetings, technical workshops, design reviews, and coordination meetings.
- Support proposals, project planning, scope definition, deliverables, manpower allocation, and engineering man-hour estimates.
Coordination and Team Development
- Coordinate electrical, instrumentation and control, and mechanical design with civil, structural, architectural, process, and BIM disciplines.
- Manage technical interfaces and resolve design coordination issues.
- Ensure QA/QC procedures and engineering review processes are followed.
- Mentor engineers, support performance evaluations and career development, and participate in recruitment and technical assessment.
- Promote knowledge sharing, best practices, and continuous improvement.
Electrical and I&C Systems
- Knowledge may include MV and LV power distribution, substations, transformers, generators, emergency power, UPS, DC batteries, variable frequency drives, and motor control centres.
- Knowledge may include protection and coordination, short-circuit and load-flow studies, earthing, lightning protection, lighting, small power, power quality, SCADA, control and instrumentation interfaces, and equipment specifications.
Mechanical Systems
- Knowledge may include HVAC, ventilation, pumps, pumping systems, mechanical piping, water and wastewater equipment, fire protection, plumbing, drainage, and mechanical equipment packages.
- Knowledge may include equipment sizing, technical specifications, mechanical calculations, and equipment selection.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Professional engineering registration or chartership is preferred.
- At least 15 years of relevant engineering experience, including significant team leadership or managerial experience.
- Previous experience managing multidisciplinary electrical, instrumentation and control, and mechanical engineering teams.
- Strong experience in infrastructure, utilities, water and wastewater, and industrial projects.
- Good understanding of IEC, IEEE, NFPA, BS/EN, and local authority requirements.
- Experience with engineering consultancy and multidisciplinary design environments is required.
- PMP certification is preferred but not mandatory.

- Required capabilities include technical leadership, team and resource management, multidisciplinary coordination, project and programme awareness, client-facing communication, technical review, prioritization, commercial awareness, problem-solving, decision-making, and staff development.
- Preferred tools include ETAP, AutoCAD, Revit or BIM platforms, DIALux, HAP, Microsoft Project or Primavera P6, and Microsoft Office.
