About the Role
Mace is seeking an experienced MEP Manager (Commissioning) for a major data centre development in Abu Dhabi. The role leads commissioning, testing, and handover of all MEP systems.

- Lead and manage all MEP commissioning activities from pre commissioning through to integrated systems testing and handover
- Develop and implement commissioning strategies, plans, and procedures aligned with project requirements
- Act as key interface between contractors, vendors, consultants, and PMC team on commissioning matters
- Oversee preparation and review of commissioning documentation including method statements, checklists, and test scripts
- Ensure all systems are tested, validated, and perform in accordance with design intent and specifications
- Coordinate multi disciplinary commissioning activities across mechanical, electrical, ELV, and specialist systems
- Drive readiness for commissioning ensuring installation completion and quality benchmarks are achieved
- Manage and witness testing and commissioning activities including FAT, SAT, and integrated systems testing
- Identify and resolve technical issues during commissioning implementing corrective actions
- Champion health, safety, and environmental standards throughout all commissioning activities
- Support client handover processes ensuring documentation, training, and demonstrations are completed
- Contribute to reporting on commissioning progress, risks, and key technical issues to senior stakeholders
Requirements
- Degree qualified in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related discipline
- Extensive experience in MEP commissioning management on large scale, technically complex projects
- Proven track record delivering commissioning on MEP intensive or mission critical developments
- Strong knowledge of commissioning processes including pre commissioning, start up, integrated systems testing, and handover
- Experience coordinating multiple contractors and specialist vendors during complex commissioning phases
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills

Job Description

- Mace is supporting the delivery of a large scale, next generation digital infrastructure programme in the region, working alongside a leading developer in the data centre sector.
- We are seeking an experienced MEP Manager (Commissioning) to join a major, technically complex development as it transitions into the delivery phase.
You’ll Be Responsible For
- Lead and manage all MEP commissioning activities from pre commissioning through to integrated systems testing and handover.
- Develop and implement commissioning strategies, plans, and procedures aligned with project requirements and programme milestones.
- Act as the key interface between contractors, specialist vendors, consultants, and the PMC team on all commissioning related matters.
- Oversee the preparation and review of commissioning documentation, including method statements, checklists, and test scripts.
- Ensure all systems are tested, validated, and perform in accordance with design intent, specifications, and operational criteria.
- Coordinate multi disciplinary commissioning activities across mechanical, electrical, ELV, and specialist systems.
- Drive readiness for commissioning, ensuring installation completion, documentation, and quality benchmarks are achieved prior to testing.

You’ll Need To Have
- Degree qualified in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Extensive experience in MEP commissioning management on large scale, technically complex projects.
- Proven track record delivering commissioning on MEP intensive or mission critical developments.
- Strong knowledge of commissioning processes, including pre commissioning, start up, integrated systems testing, and handover.
- Experience coordinating multiple contractors and specialist vendors during complex commissioning phases.
- Familiarity with international standards, commissioning best practices, and structured handover processes.
- Strong problem solving skills, with the ability to manage technical challenges in high pressure environments.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Strong commitment to health, safety, and quality standards.
- Middle East project experience is highly desirable.
