Role Description

  • This is a full time, on site Medical Physicist role based in Hamad Medical City (37).
  • The Medical Physicist will provide clinical support for radiation therapy and diagnostic imaging services, ensuring accurate treatment planning and safe delivery of radiation.
  • Daily responsibilities include performing and reviewing dosimetry calculations, conducting equipment commissioning and quality assurance tests, and verifying compliance with radiation safety standards.
  • The role involves collaborating closely with physicians, radiation therapists, dosimetrists, and technologists to optimize treatment protocols and resolve technical issues.
  • The Medical Physicist will also contribute to protocol development, participate in research and education activities, support continuous quality improvement initiatives, and help train clinical staff.

Qualifications

  • Strong foundation in Medical Physics and Physics, with the ability to apply theoretical principles to clinical practice.
  • Proficiency in Treatment Planning and Dosimetry for radiation therapy, including verification and optimization of patient treatment plans.
  • Demonstrated expertise in Radiation Safety, including regulatory compliance, shielding calculations, and implementation of safety protocols.
  • Master’s degree or higher in Medical Physics, Physics, or a closely related field; board certification or eligibility is highly desirable.
  • Experience with radiotherapy equipment, treatment planning systems, and quality assurance tools in a hospital or cancer center setting.
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, and documentation skills, with attention to detail and accuracy in clinical calculations.
  • Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams, communicate complex technical information clearly, and support training of clinical staff.
  • Commitment to patient safety, continuous learning, and participation in research, education, or quality improvement projects.
