Responsibilities
- Manage day to day operation of medical and hazardous waste incineration facilities
- Ensure continuous, safe, and efficient plant operation on a 24/7 basis
- Supervise waste reception, segregation, storage, feeding, combustion, ash handling, and emission control systems
- Optimize incinerator performance and fuel consumption
- Monitor plant operating parameters and process efficiency
- Coordinate scheduled shutdowns and plant start ups
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and emission standards
- Enforce occupational health and safety procedures
- Lead emergency response activities
- Conduct safety audits and incident investigations
- Prepare annual operating budgets and monitor operating expenses
- Coordinate with hospitals, healthcare facilities, industries, waste generators, transport contractors, and regulatory agencies
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Process Engineering
- 8 10+ years of experience in medical waste treatment, hazardous waste treatment, incineration plants, Waste to Energy (WtE), or thermal treatment facilities
- Minimum 5 years in a managerial or supervisory role
- Technical knowledge of hazardous waste regulations, medical waste handling, incineration technology, combustion processes, boiler operations, air pollution control systems, CEMS, environmental management systems, preventive maintenance, root cause analysis, risk assessment, process optimization, SCADA/DCS systems, ISO 14001 & ISO 45001

Job Purpose
- The Medical & Hazardous Waste Incineration Plant Operations Manager is responsible for planning, directing, and supervising all plant operations to ensure safe, efficient, and environmentally compliant treatment and disposal of medical and hazardous waste.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day to day operation of medical and hazardous waste incineration facilities.
- Ensure continuous, safe, and efficient plant operation on a 24/7 basis.
- Supervise waste reception, segregation, storage, feeding, combustion, ash handling, and emission control systems.
- Optimize incinerator performance and fuel consumption.
- Monitor plant operating parameters and process efficiency.
- Coordinate scheduled shutdowns and plant start ups.
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and emission standards.
- Enforce occupational health and safety procedures.
- Lead emergency response activities.
- Conduct safety audits and incident investigations.
- Promote a strong safety culture across the facility.
- Ensure compliance with applicable environmental, hazardous waste, and occupational safety regulations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Process Engineering.
- Master's degree is an advantage.
Experience
- 8–10+ years of experience in medical waste treatment, hazardous waste treatment, incineration plants, Waste to Energy (WtE), or thermal treatment facilities.
- Minimum 5 years in a managerial or supervisory role.
