Mechanical Technician

Role Overview

Responsibilities

• Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance on construction equipment and machinery.
• Diagnose mechanical faults and troubleshoot heavy equipment and diesel-powered machinery.
• Service, repair, dismantle, and reassemble engines and mechanical components.
• Maintain engines, generators, pumps, transmissions, gearboxes, drive systems, cooling systems, and braking systems.
• Assist with major repairs, engine overhauls, and equipment refurbishment.
• Inspect equipment before and after rental deployment.
• Respond to breakdowns and perform on-site repairs when required.
• Maintain repair records and coordinate equipment availability with workshop and operations teams.
• Follow manufacturer procedures, HSE procedures, and customer or site safety requirements.

Required Qualifications

• ITI, diploma, technical certificate in mechanical engineering or mechanical trade, or equivalent qualification.
• 1–5 years of hands-on experience as a Mechanical Technician or Heavy Equipment Mechanic.
• Strong experience in construction equipment and diesel engine maintenance.
• Good knowledge of mechanical troubleshooting, servicing, and preventive maintenance.
• Ability to work in a workshop and at customer or project sites.

Preferred Experience

• Experience on CICPA-controlled sites or projects is preferred.
• Experience with heavy machinery such as excavators, loaders, forklifts, generators, compressors, cranes, telehandlers, or rollers is advantageous.
• Experience in construction equipment rental, heavy-equipment maintenance, construction, or industrial machinery is preferred.
• UAE or GCC experience is advantageous.
• Experience with hydraulic systems and basic electrical troubleshooting is advantageous.

Technical Skills

• Heavy equipment maintenance and construction machinery servicing.
• Diesel engine maintenance and engine overhaul and repair.
• Mechanical troubleshooting, equipment inspection, and breakdown maintenance.
• Hydraulic systems, powertrain systems, gearboxes, and transmission systems.
• Workshop maintenance, on-site equipment repair, and HSE compliance.

Language Skills

• Basic to intermediate English communication skills are required.
• The technician must understand technical instructions, equipment manuals, and safety procedures.
• Fluent written and spoken English is stated in an additional language section.
• Arabic or a second language is a plus.

Schedule

• Monday to Saturday, 9 hours per day, from 8:30 to 17:30.
• Overtime on Sunday may be required.

Work Location

• Work is performed in a workshop and at customer or project sites.
• Candidates should currently be in Dubai, UAE, or be willing to relocate within the UAE.
