Key Roles and Responsibilities
- Review mechanical design drawings and shop drawings for HVAC, plumbing, fire-fighting, and chilled water systems in high-rise towers.
- Prepare and coordinate mechanical shop drawings with approved design intent, the BIM-coordinated model, and site conditions.
- Prepare and maintain as-built drawings for mechanical works for record, close-out, and O&M handover.
- Prepare and verify BOQ take-offs for mechanical works supporting procurement, tendering, and variation evaluation.
- Conduct technical and QC reviews of mechanical installations against approved design, ASHRAE, NFPA, and Saudi codes.
Technical Skills
- Support BIM coordination for mechanical services and lead resolution of cross-discipline clashes.
- Review vendor technical submittals, equipment datasheets, and material approvals.
- Provide technical guidance to site mechanical engineers on complex system design and installation issues.
- Participate in testing, balancing, and commissioning reviews of mechanical systems.
- Ensure compliance with applicable mechanical codes and project technical standards.
Requirements
- Experience reviewing mechanical design and shop drawings for HVAC, plumbing, fire-fighting, and chilled water systems.
- Proficiency in mechanical BIM coordination and cross-discipline clash resolution.
- Ability to prepare and maintain mechanical shop drawings and as-built drawings.
- Experience preparing and verifying BOQ take-offs for mechanical works.
- Knowledge of ASHRAE, NFPA, Saudi codes, and applicable project technical standards.
- Experience reviewing vendor technical submittals, equipment datasheets, and material approvals.
- Experience participating in testing, balancing, and commissioning reviews of mechanical systems.
