Job Description

  • Airbus US Manufacturing Facility is looking for an A220 Mechanical Quality Inspector (2nd Shift) in Mobile, AL.
  • Responsible for execution and confirmation of quality inspections as part of the production process with emphasis on aircraft structural assemblies and components.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to investigations and root cause analysis into reported quality issues.
  • Perform Quality Inspections as per defined standards, Final Check and Attestation, Stop Points, Out of sequence work.
  • Ensure Operational Surveillance (people, product and process).
  • Provide feedback and coaching to Operations & Support Functions on Quality issues.
  • Actively participate in process improvements.
  • Execute technical inspections in the production process of the aircraft.
  • Prepare and perform visual, incoming, first article, final inspections during aircraft manufacture.
  • Document technical inspections in FLEXNET/NCMS/SAP production orders.
  • Support troubleshooting, Functional Test Procedures (FTPs) and participate in Quality Survey requests.
  • Compile technical data of non conformance to launch NCMS based quality discrepancy sheets.
  • Document all results of technical inspector in FLEXNET/NCMS/SAP based IT system.
  • Attain skills to perform audits of Non Conformance Rework Orders as part of Material Review Board (MRB).

Your Boarding Pass

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 5 years of experience in an aviation company with emphasis on mechanical and/or structural components and assemblies.
  • Knowledge of Quality Management Systems.
  • Knowledge of drawing systems, inspection plans, and inspection coordination.
  • Knowledge of principles, practices, methods and tools used in production line.
  • Handling and use of inspection tools for length measuring techniques (mechanical, electrical).
  • Relevant Airline/Aviation experience is desirable.
  • FAA Airframe & Powerplant License, including inspection authorization is preferred.
  • Experience in a Quality Inspector position is preferred.
