We are looking for a Mechanical Product Engineer to join our Engineering team in Bury St. Edmunds, Suffolk.
Are you a Mechanical Engineer who enjoys solving practical engineering challenges and improving existing products? This role offers the opportunity to apply your technical expertise in a hands-on, business critical environment where your work has a direct impact on product quality and performance.
As part of our Engineering team, you will focus on the ongoing support, modification and enhancement of established product ranges. You will play a central role in progressing engineering changes, resolving technical issues and ensuring designs remain robust, compliant, and fit for purpose.
Working closely with manufacturing, quality and supply chain teams, you will help address real-world engineering challenges - whether that's responding to production queries, refining designs, or implementing customer-driven modifications. As part of the AMOT engineering group, you'll undertake a variety of engineering tasks using knowledge, experience, initiative, and independent judgement to support global business demands.
Complete engineering design and drafting work to support existing AMOT product ranges, as part of continuous improvement and business support initiatives.
Support local Product Value Streams to deliver best-practice, high-quality manufacturing by providing technical engineering support as part of a cross-functional team, including production, planning/purchasing and quality/manufacturing engineering departments.
Following best engineering practice, develop enhancements and/or customisations to existing products, as driven by customer requirements and opportunities.
Professionally qualified to a minimum of HNC/HND standard in Mechanical Engineering, or closely related discipline.
A minimum of 2 years relevant previous engineering experience.
Comprehensive working knowledge of 2D drafting using Autodesk AutoCAD, including Geometric Dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) to BS:8888.
Comprehensive knowledge of 3D solid part and assembly modelling, using 3D design software.
Knowledge of document creation and revision control using document management software.
Knowledge of UK, EU and US product design and certification standards.
Experienced in the design/engineering maintenance of component parts, subassemblies and end products.
Working knowledge of MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel. Powerpoint.

Casting process and design
Hydraulic and pneumatic systems
Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
