Mechanical & Maintenance Manager

Location: Winnipeg Status: Full Time, on site.

Reports to: Plant Manager

• Lead maintenance operations to maximize equipment reliability, uptime, and overall line performance.
• Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and PLC issues.
• Develop and drive preventive & predictive maintenance programs to reduce unplanned downtime.
• Oversee installation, commissioning, and optimization of new or upgraded production equipment.
• Conduct root cause analysis for recurring failures and implement long term corrective actions.
• Ensure all work meets safety, LOTO, and regulatory (HACCP/WH&S)

• Manage maintenance budgets, optimize spare parts inventory, and identify cost saving opportunities.
• Monitor and improve maintenance KPIs including downtime, PM compliance, and equipment reliability.
• Lead, coach, and develop maintenance supervisors and technicians; provide hands-on support during complex repairs.
• Collaborate with Production and Quality teams to improve OEE and overall line efficiency.
• Maintain building systems including utilities, HVAC, compressed air, and electrical infrastructure. Desired Qualifications:
• Licensed journeyman, Industrial Millwright certification, or engineering (or equivalent experience).
• 5–10 years of maintenance leadership experience in manufacturing environments.
• Strong technical knowledge of automated processing/packaging equipment and reliability systems.
• Proven success improving uptime and implementing preventive/predictive maintenance strategies.
• Skilled in CMMS use, data-driven decision making, and budget management.
