About the Role
ALSUWEIDI Engineering Consultants is seeking an experienced Mechanical Inspector for a project in Abu Dhabi. The role involves supervising and inspecting contractor activities to ensure compliance with approved drawings and specifications.

Responsibilities
- Supervise, monitor and inspect all activities carried out by the Contractor on site in accordance with approved shop drawings, materials, method statements and ITPs
- Inspect site conditions prior to start of construction activities
- Verify compatibility of the site with designed permanent works and check for obstructions
- Review materials delivered to site for conformance with approved samples and report findings
- Attend to Inspection Requests submitted by the contractor and take appropriate action
- Review submitted shop drawings against contract drawings and specifications, local codes and statutory requirements
- Monitor quality of works and assess safety at site including health and environmental issues
- Prepare daily logs and reports, maintain records for daily activities including progress photos
- Assist with inspection of completed works and preparation of punch lists
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar position, with 3 years in the UAE
- Knowledge of building construction, materials, systems and trade practices
- Computer proficiency and experience using relevant software
- Ability to communicate logically and clearly with management and staff
- Commitment to safe work practices

Job Overview
- We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Inspector to join our team for our project in Abu Dhabi.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Supervise, monitor and inspect all activities carried out by the Contractor on site.
- Inspect site conditions prior to start of construction activities.
- Verify compatibility of the site with designed permanent works and check for obstructions.
- Document condition of existing property that might be damaged by the work.
- Review materials delivered to site for conformance with approved samples.
- Check that materials are properly stored and report discrepancies.
- Inspect construction of temporary and permanent works for compliance.
- Attend to Inspection Requests submitted by the contractor.
- Review submitted shop drawings against contract drawings and specifications.
- Report any works not in accordance with approved drawing and specifications.
- Monitor quality of works and assess safety at site.
- Prepare daily logs and reports.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar position, with 3 years' experience in the UAE.
- Knowledge of building construction, materials, systems and trade practices.
- Computer proficiency and knowledge and experience using computer software.
- Ability to communicate logically and clearly with management and staff.
- Commitment to safe work practices.
