What You Will Do
- Design, analyze, and specify mechanical systems and components supporting telecommunications infrastructure (e.g., equipment enclosures, mounting systems, cooling/ventilation systems, structural supports for telecom equipment).
- Perform engineering calculations and analysis (thermal, structural, load) to ensure designs meet industry codes, client specifications, and safety standards.
- Review and stamp/seal engineering drawings and calculations as required by state licensure.
- Support site engineering reviews, equipment fit-up designs, and mechanical integration for telecom shelters, cabinets, and outdoor equipment installations.
- Coordinate with RF, structural, and civil engineering teams to ensure mechanical designs integrate properly with overall site design.
- Support HVAC system design, sizing, and specification for equipment shelters, enclosures, and related infrastructure.
- Maintain professional engineering licensure and stay current with relevant codes, standards, and industry best practices.
What You Will Need
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (or closely related engineering discipline)
Active Professional Engineer (PE) license required (Mechanical discipline).
Approximately 5 years of mechanical engineering experience, ideally including exposure to telecommunications infrastructure, equipment enclosures, or similar built-environment mechanical systems.
Experience with HVAC design and/or thermal management systems.
Experience with heat shield design or thermal protection systems is a plus.
Exposure to EV design or related mechanical systems is a plus but not required — willingness to learn and collaborate cross-functionally is key.
Familiarity with telecommunications industry standards (e.g., TIA-222, NEC as applicable).
Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams spanning multiple industries or product lines.
The salary range for this position is $85,000-95,000 annually. Actual compensation offered will be based on factors including but not limited to skills, qualifications, experience, education, licensure/certifications, and internal equity, and may vary from the range listed. This range reflects base compensation only.
