Role overview
Perform hands-on maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and operation of diesel generators of various sizes and brands.
Work at construction project sites to keep generators operational and ready for continuous site use.
Key responsibilities
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on diesel generators at project sites.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults.
- Inspect and maintain fuel, cooling, lubrication, exhaust, starting, and charging systems.
- Replace engine oil, filters, belts, hoses, and other consumable parts.
- Respond to emergency breakdowns and perform onsite repairs.
- Monitor generator performance and identify potential faults.
- Maintain maintenance and breakdown reports.
- Coordinate with site supervisors and the maintenance team.
- Follow company procedures and health and safety regulations.
Requirements
- Proven hands-on experience in diesel generator maintenance and repair.
- Previous construction-site experience is preferred.
- Knowledge of diesel engines, generator control panels, and electrical starting and charging systems.
- Ability to troubleshoot faults using technical manuals and diagnostic tools.
- Ability to work independently and under pressure.
