Position Overview

The position is for a Primary Teacher in the Academic Department.

The listed type is permanent, with the Assistant Head of Primary as line manager.

Teaching and Learning

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons that meet diverse learner needs.
  • Use inquiry, creativity, critical thinking, collaboration, and technology to enhance learning.
  • Maintain high expectations for learning, behavior, and personal responsibility.
  • Create a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment.
  • Promote student agency through goal setting, reflection, and ownership of learning.

Curriculum and Assessment

  • Collaboratively plan coherent grade-level programs and contribute to curriculum development.
  • Use formative and summative assessment to monitor progress and inform instruction.
  • Maintain accurate records and provide timely, constructive feedback.
  • Use assessment data to differentiate instruction and support targeted interventions.

Inclusion and Well-being

  • Support EAL, SEN, high-achieving, and other diverse learners through differentiated instruction.
  • Collaborate with inclusion staff, counselors, and pastoral leaders to support students.
  • Promote well-being, resilience, respect, accountability, and safe transitions.

Collaboration and Community

  • Participate in meetings, planning sessions, professional learning communities, and professional development.
  • Build positive relationships with parents and communicate about student progress and well-being.
  • Participate in school events, extracurricular programs, and community-focused initiatives.

Safeguarding and Conduct

  • Uphold safeguarding, child protection, health, and safety policies at all times.
  • Maintain professional boundaries, confidentiality, cultural awareness, attendance, and punctuality.
  • Ensure student safety during lessons, transitions, duties, and extracurricular activities.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field is required.
  • Primary teaching qualification and teaching certification recognized by Qatar MoEHE are required.
  • At least three years of successful primary teaching experience is required.
  • International or multicultural school experience is preferred.
  • Child Protection and Safeguarding training is required, or the candidate must be willing to complete it after employment.

Required Competencies

  • Knowledge of effective pedagogy, assessment practices, and international curriculum approaches.
  • Ability to differentiate instruction and support diverse learners.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, presentation, organizational, classroom management, and behavior management skills.
  • Competence with educational technology and digital tools.
  • Professionalism, reliability, emotional intelligence, intercultural awareness, and a growth mindset.
