Job Description
Parsons is seeking a Materials Engineer, also described as a Materials Specialist, to support an infrastructure project in Dubai.
The role monitors, inspects, coordinates, witnesses and documents project materials to confirm construction meets contract requirements and specifications.
Core Responsibilities
- Review contractor material submittals and obtain approvals against applicable standards and project specifications.
- Schedule and control construction materials and equipment at the job site.
- Inspect work and verify that materials and execution comply with approved methods, contract specifications and requirements.
- Coordinate material testing, maintain project files and daily diaries, and prepare daily reports and contract documentation.
- Verify approved materials are incorporated and properly stored, and resolve material conflicts and issues with proposed solutions.
- Collect and review certificates of compliance, MSDS, inspection tags and other material records.
- Participate in safety practices, safety reporting, quality control reports and procedure development.
- Perform engineering calculations and prepare graphs and charts.
Required Skills and Experience
- B.Sc. in Civil Engineering, Geology Engineering, Materials Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
