Role overview
The Material Inspector will inspect construction materials and civil works for roads and infrastructure projects.
The role covers material verification, testing, QA/QC records, nonconformance follow-up, and compliance with contract and authority requirements.
Responsibilities
- Inspect materials against RTA specifications, approved submittals, drawings, and contract requirements.
- Review source approvals, delivery notes, certificates, test reports, and supplier or laboratory approvals.
- Sample and witness tests for soil, aggregates, concrete, asphalt, steel, and other civil materials.
- Inspect roadworks, bridges, culverts, drainage, utilities, asphalt paving, concrete, earthworks, and backfilling.
- Monitor storage, handling, protection, usage, and quantities to prevent damage, wastage, or deviation.
- Coordinate testing and approvals with Material and Site Engineers.
- Submit WIRs and maintain inspection, testing, material, as-built, and closeout records.
- Raise NCRs and site observations, follow corrective actions, and support audits and authority inspections.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or relevant diploma-level education background.
- RTA or Dubai Municipality approval is required.
