Reporting to the Underground Material Handling System (MHS) Supervisor, the Belt runner/Operator is a key role in ensuring that the operational tasks associated with the MHS system are carried out safely and effectively to support Carrapateena in achieving their production targets. The MHS system consists of conveyors, transfer chutes and feeders which are located underground and on the surface. The role also focuses heavily on housekeeping standards in these areas and basic conveyor belt inspections and maintenance
In this role you will:-
Integrate with Maintenance counterparts to ensure effective, pro-actively planned maintenance to minimise unplanned downtime
Ensure daily operational tasks are completed and job history recorded in SAP.
monitor conveyor belt and transfer chutes operations, identifying issues and escalating to maintenance team in timely manner
Maintain high housekeeping standards for all the equipment
Assist where required in the permit to work system, including helping to update and build documents relating to specific tasks.
Provide continual feedback to the Shift Maintenance Supervisors on job progress
Working in dusty, high-temperature, and confined underground environments while strictly adhering to rigorous safety protocols for high-voltage and heavy rotating machinery.
Checking idlers, rollers, and belt structural integrity, as well as coordinating with mechanical fitters or specialized belt splicers when structural failures or belt trips occur.
ABOUT YOU
Our successful candidate: --
Experience performing routine inspections and maintenance reporting
Exposure to working at heights and confined spaces
Proven experience working around conveyors systems.
Proven commitment to look after your own wellbeing and the confidence to speak up when others put themselves in harm's way
Hold extensive experience driving a manual vehicle.
Self-motivated, driven and focused on achieving high-performance targets whilst always prioritizing safety first
I.T, Bobcat, riggers, dogging, and excavator advantageous, but not essential
Ability to communicate across multiple levels and disciplines
Whilst not essential, experience working with SAP would be of advantage
