We are currently taking applications of interest from experienced Fixed Plant Electricians seeking to live residentially.
You will join our Surface Operations team here at Olympic Dam. (Electrical & Instrumentation Technicians, we would also like to hear from you).

Joining the Surface Operations team, you will be considered for Electrical opportunities across our surface operations team.

Living locally in Roxby Downs, South Australia, you will work a week on, week off 7/7 day/night rotational roster, returning home every night to live life your way.

The Challenge Ahead
As an Electrical Technician, you will play an important role in supporting safe, reliable and efficient operations across our fixed plant assets.
You will be responsible for executing both planned and breakdown maintenance activities on electrical equipment and instrumentation within a large-scale mining and processing environment.
Working within a collaborative maintenance team, you will contribute to equipment reliability, plant availability and continuous improvement initiatives while supporting BHP's commitment to safe and standardised work practices.
You will also be trained in the BHP Operating System (BOS) and have opportunities to further develop your technical capability within a complex operational environment.
What You'll Bring to the Role
- Australian recognised Electrical Trade qualification
- Current South Australian Electrical Workers Licence (or ability to obtain)
• Current C Class Driver Licence
- Experience maintaining fixed plant electrical equipment and instrumentation within mining, processing, industrial or heavy industry environments
- Strong commitment to safety, reliability and continuous improvement
- Experience using SAP, 1SAP or similar maintenance management systems will be highly regarded
- Ability to collaborate effectively with operations and maintenance teams to solve equipment performance issues
- Proactive, team-focused and self-motivated approach to work
Key Responsibilities
- Comply with and consistently follow safety standards, procedures and systems of work
- Perform planned and unplanned maintenance, inspections and checks on surface and underground electrical equipment and instrumentation
- Support the resolution of electrical issues impacting plant performance, reliability and availability
- Review and maintain equipment history records and maintenance schedules
- Apply electrical trade skills to carry out maintenance activities that support operational stability and equipment reliability
- Assist in the development and revision of operating and maintenance procedures
- Communicate equipment and plant status with relevant stakeholders and operational teams
- Maintain a high standard of housekeeping across all work areas
- Demonstrate BHP's values through a strong safety focus, continuous improvement mindset and positive contribution to an inclusive team culture
