Role Overview
To insure the accurate receipt of, accountability for, disbursement of material as well as accurate preparation / shipment of finished goods. This should be done safely and efficiently while maintaining a high level of product identification, lot control and FIFO. Job responsibilities will be completed in compliance with the quality policy Major Responsibilities: Must understand and follow the operator instructions for the area. Perform quality checks as outlined in the operator instructions. Must inspect incoming parts and outgoing shipments to insure compliance with Quality standards. Must be able to operate all material handling equipment in an alert, safe and effective manner. Processing of freight bills, packing slips, receiving reports, bill of lading, and other related receiving and shipping forms. Accurate input of all transaction’s related to inventory into computer system. Requires shift work and overtime. Punctual presence (attendance and timeliness) on assigned work days. Must be alert, working in an area with constant moving equipment. Minor Responsibilities: Requires teamwork and participation of company activities such as IATF16949, ISO9001, ISO14001 and Employee Involvement. Requires effective communication with team members and internal departments and related outside resources. Understand and comply with company policies and procedures. Ability to work in a manufacturing environment and perform duties with minimal supervision. Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities. Maintain 5’s standards: maintaining good housing keeping/cleaning throughout the department. May require some travel. Minimum Qualifications for the Job: Prefer 1 year experience in a manufacturing environment working within logistics Key Competencies: Must have proficient understanding and working knowledge of Personal Computer and strong understanding of inventory management computer system. Must have a proficient level of arithmetic skills to be able to complete, interpret and analyze charts and graphs. Must be able to read and demonstrate an understanding of operator instructions. Must be able to write as demonstrated through the completion of the employment application. Must be able to pass required testing to operator material handling equipment as assigned. Effective verbal, listening and communication skills. Must be able to routinely perform one or both core job tasks within the logistics section; Core Job Skills in Shipping and Receiving: Shipping Section – Possess Job Skills required to: 1. Accurately stage and prepare customer shipments. 2. Accurately load customer shipments. 3. Accurately input and process customer ASN’S. 4. Accurately verify, process and input of finished goods. Receiving Section – Possess Job Skills required to: 1. Accurately unload, receive and stock incoming import and domestic component material. 2. Accurately disburse material to manufacturing. 3. Safely unload and receive raw material –or- accurately process and receive non – direct material. Physical Requirements: Requires constant standing and moving 8-12 hours per day Must be able to constantly lift and carry up to 35 lbs. Must be able to bend, stoop, squat and kneel. Must be able to apply up to 66lbs push/pull force unassisted. Must be able to reach overhead. Requires work in an environment with above and below normal temperatures.
