Role Overview
The Master Paint Technician prepares and finishes automotive surfaces.
The role restores car surfaces using body filler, sanding, painting, compounding, and polishing in accordance with manufacturer and dealer standards.
The role emphasizes workmanship quality, problem-solving, efficient tool use, and workplace safety.
Responsibilities
- Apply body filler and sand surfaces before painting.
- Apply primer and paint according to manufacturer repair standards.
- Perform machine compounding and polishing based on final inspection reports.
- Maintain repair quality and car body durability to manufacturer standards.
- Review repeat repair and final inspection reports and prevent recurring issues.
- Implement painting-job safety practices and use respirators and protective clothing.
- Keep tools and the work area clean and orderly.
- Participate in safety discussions and training, report incidents, and complete assigned safety training.
Required Skills
- Knowledge of paint mixing technology and application methods.
- Proficiency with sanding and painting tools and equipment.
- Strong adherence to safety and quality standards.
