Role Description
The Marine Engineer is responsible for operating, maintaining, inspecting, and troubleshooting marine engines, machinery, and onboard technical systems.
The role supports safe, reliable, efficient, and environmentally responsible vessel operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain marine engines, machinery, and technical systems.
- Conduct inspections, testing, maintenance, and equipment repairs.
- Monitor engine performance, fuel consumption, and system conditions.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and technical issues.
- Maintain propulsion, auxiliary, cooling, lubrication, and fuel systems.
- Plan and perform preventive and corrective maintenance.
- Coordinate with vessel crew, contractors, suppliers, and technical teams.
- Maintain maintenance records, equipment logs, and technical documentation.
- Assist with equipment installation, upgrades, and commissioning.
- Ensure machinery and systems meet safety and operational standards.
- Monitor spare parts, tools, equipment, and maintenance requirements.
- Identify potential equipment failures and recommend preventive solutions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
