Role overview
Oversee daily farm operations, production activities, staff, equipment, and resources.
Ensure productivity, safety, quality, and cost efficiency across farm operations.
Key responsibilities
- Manage daily operations and develop seasonal production plans and schedules.
- Oversee crop cultivation or livestock management and monitor production and health.
- Supervise farm workers, assign tasks, and train staff in safe work practices.
- Manage irrigation, fertilization, pest control, feeding, maintenance, equipment, and facilities.
- Manage supplies, inventory, storage, suppliers, contractors, and service providers.
- Maintain records and reports and monitor yields, costs, productivity, and performance.
- Ensure health, safety, environmental, and agricultural compliance.
- Prepare budgets, forecasts, and management reports and implement operational improvements.
Qualifications
- Diploma or bachelor’s degree in agriculture, agribusiness, horticulture, animal science, or a related field.
- Relevant farm management or agricultural operations experience.
- Knowledge of crop production or livestock management and experience with irrigation, fertilization, pest control, and maintenance.
- Ability to supervise farm workers and knowledge of agricultural machinery and equipment.
