Position Overview:

We are looking for a Manufacturing Engineering Technician to join our Engineering team!! The Manufacturing Engineering Technician maintains and continuously improves manufacturing processes, quality systems, and equipment performance, and works cross-functionally to reduce scrap, and improve product quality and delivery. This role works under the direction of the Lead Engineer and in accordance with company policies and procedures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Process and Equipment Improvement

Prioritize and schedule work assignments to support continuous improvement of manufacturing processes and methods while reducing cost and improving quality

Assess the capability of machines used in current and future production

Identify equipment malfunctions, document findings, and recommendation corrective action

Verify machines are producing at maximum efficiency

Support production teams in maintaining processes, troubleshooting, and resolving issues with products, equipment, or processes

Develop and implement engineering solutions to reduce scrap

Program CNC machines, including generating and testing new programs as needed

Quality Management System (QMS)

Maintain and continuously improve the QMS, adapting it to new circumstances or requirements

Own quality objectives for the area, and drive continuous improvement and implementation of improvement suggestions

Enforce guidelines set out in the Business Management System and apply industry standard requirements to day-to-day manufacturing measures

Select and apply the appropriate QM tools for each task

Own responsibility for Work Instructions and their accuracy

Take responsibility for the quality of delivered products to the customer, supporting continuous improvement of the company’s quality reputation

Collaboration and Reporting

Provide support for the development of employees throughout the organization

Coordinate information flow, organizational structure, and teamwork across departments

Work with other specialist departments and support procedural changes

Participate on cross-functional teams to resolve manufacturing problems and drive continuous improvement of processes, productivity, and quality while reducing cost

Report to management and the central quality area on QMS status and improvement activity

Recommend sourcing of supplies, services, tools, and equipment from outside vendors

Complete and maintain all required paperwork, records, and documentation

Qualifications:

Requires a high school diploma, equivalent, or relevant experience

Able to analyze and interpret standard requirement texts

Able to create flow charts and process depictions

Able to read and interpret documents such as routings, layouts, and procedure manuals

Able to compute rate, ratio, and percent

Able to work with English (imperial) and metric units of measure

Able to follow detailed instructions and apply problem-solving skills to production issues

Strong leadership, social, and team-based competence

Effective communication skills, including the ability to explain quality and technical content and approaches on the spot, tailored to the audience

Able to write routine reports and correspondence
