Role overview
Join McLaren Racing's manufacturing team to deliver high-quality, end-to-end manufacturing solutions for Formula 1.
Rotate between the design office and machine shop to turn complex designs into reliable, efficiently manufactured components.
Support manufacturing for race car, wind tunnel, pit equipment, and heritage car components.
What you will do
- Embed design for manufacture best practice in scheming, concept, and design reviews.
- Support material selection, forecasting, and early procurement decisions.
- Produce stage models, drawings, production routings, raw material requirements, tooling selections, and directed inspection requirements.
- Design tooling, fixturing, and gauging to improve process reliability and right-first-time delivery.
- Create CNC programmes and setup sheets using best practices in programming, workholding, cutter selection, optimisation, and standardisation.
- Collaborate with Process Engineers, Machinists, and stakeholders to resolve quality concerns and deliver corrective actions.
- Implement improvements that reduce waste, control cost, and support sustainable manufacture.
What you will bring
- Strong manufacturing engineering experience covering design for manufacture, production routings, cost control, and directed inspection.
