Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mandarin, Education, Linguistics, or a related field. A teaching certification is preferred (e.g., TCSOL, TEFL, TESOL).
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of Mandarin teaching experience, preferably in an online setting.
- Language Proficiency: Native or near-native fluency in Mandarin. Proficiency in English or another language for communication with non-Mandarin-speaking students.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in using online teaching platforms (e.g., Zoom, Microsoft Teams) and digital resources for language instruction.
- Interpersonal Skills: Strong communication, patience, and adaptability to cater to different learning styles and cultural backgrounds.
- Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple students and lessons efficiently while maintaining high teaching standards.
- Experience teaching specific demographics (e.g., children, business professionals).
- Familiarity with Mandarin language proficiency tests (e.g., HSK, YCT).
- Creative approach to integrating cultural elements into language lessons.
- Flexible hours depending on the availability of students, with a requirement to accommodate different time zones as needed.
