Job Summary
The Manager – Thermal Sales (ALU & DRI) is responsible for driving sales growth and business development for thermal products in the Aluminium (ALU) and Direct Reduced Iron (DRI) segments across specified territory across Eastern and Central India.
The role focuses on achieving sales targets, managing key customer relationships, identifying new business opportunities, providing technical and commercial support, negotiating contracts, and ensuring customer satisfaction.
The incumbent collaborates closely with cross-functional teams, monitors market trends and competitor activities, develops strategic sales plans, and contributes to business profitability while ensuring compliance with company policies and safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve revenue, volume, and profitability targets for the assigned territory.
- Manage key customer accounts in the Aluminium (ALU) and DRI segments while strengthening long-term business relationships.
- Identify and develop new business opportunities to expand the customer base and market share.
- Conduct regular customer visits to understand technical requirements, resolve issues, and provide value-added solutions.
- Prepare techno-commercial proposals, quotations, and negotiate pricing and commercial terms.
- Coordinate with Production, Technical Services, Supply Chain, Finance, and Customer Service teams to ensure timely order execution and customer satisfaction.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer requirements to identify growth opportunities.
- Prepare sales forecasts, demand plans, and periodic MIS reports for management review.
- Ensure timely collection of receivables and maintain healthy customer credit management.
- Participate in technical discussions, product trials, and application development at customer sites.
- Represent the organization during customer meetings, industry events, exhibitions, and technical seminars.
- Maintain accurate records in CRM/ERP systems and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Support product launches, business expansion initiatives, and strategic projects as assigned.
- Ensure adherence to all safety, quality, ethical, and statutory requirements while conducting business activities.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Metallurgical, Ceramic, Chemical, or related discipline).
- MBA/PGDM in Marketing or Sales Management will be an added advantage.
Experience
- 8–12 years of experience in B2B industrial sales, preferably in refractories, thermal products, steel, aluminium, or allied process industries.
- Experience in handling customers within the Aluminium, Non-ferrous and DRI segments is preferred.
Technical Competencies
- Strong understanding of thermal/refractory products and their industrial applications.
- Knowledge of Aluminium, Non-ferrous and DRI manufacturing processes.
- Techno-commercial negotiation and contract management.
- Sales forecasting, budgeting, and territory management.
- CRM and ERP systems (preferably Oracle/SAP) and MS Office proficiency.
