Role Overview

The Manager, Strategic Customer Onboarding leads a team responsible for complex and strategically important customer implementations.

The role owns team performance, portfolio health, staffing, operational cadence, and first-line escalation management.

This is a people and portfolio leadership role rather than an individual implementation role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, develop, recruit, and manage experienced Onboarding Managers.
  • Own portfolio delivery performance, customer outcomes, capacity, risk, time-to-value, and forecast accuracy.
  • Establish operating cadences, escalation paths, staffing practices, and scalable delivery processes.
  • Provide oversight for complex Tipalti-led and partner-led implementations.
  • Identify systemic delivery issues and drive improvements across processes, tools, and operating practices.
  • Partner with Product, Engineering, Support, Sales, Professional Services, and Alliances to remove delivery barriers.
  • Champion AI-enabled workflows and reinforce adoption through coaching and performance expectations.

About You

  • 7+ years of experience in customer onboarding, professional services, implementation, or similar B2B SaaS delivery work.
  • 3+ years of direct people-management experience leading experienced implementation or onboarding professionals.
  • Experience managing complex enterprise implementations and accountability for delivery quality, customer outcomes, capacity, and risk.
  • Strong coaching, performance management, executive presence, escalation management, analytical, and cross-functional leadership skills.
  • Ability to build scalable processes, distinguish systemic issues from project issues, and operate in a fast-changing environment.
  • A BA/BS in a related field or equivalent practical experience is required.
  • Fintech, payments, ERP, partner implementation, AI transformation, Salesforce, or Jira experience is advantageous.

Workplace

  • The role follows a hybrid working model requiring office attendance on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday.

Compensation

  • The base salary range is $120,000–$150,000 CAD annually.
  • The target bonus is 12.5% of base salary.
  • Expected total compensation is $135,000–$168,750 CAD annually, including base salary and target bonus or commission.
