The Role
The Strategy Manager advises government, semi-government, and private-sector clients on positioning, reputation, and stakeholder engagement.
The role combines strategic counsel with hands-on delivery across communications, media relations, and research.
The role translates client objectives into actionable strategies that strengthen institutional standing and build national and international networks.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement communication strategies that strengthen client positioning and reputation.
- Develop media strategies, manage domestic and international media relationships, and advise on media approaches.
- Build and maintain stakeholder networks across government, semi-government, and private-sector audiences.
- Conduct research on opportunities, trends, and risks and provide actionable recommendations.
- Manage crisis communication strategies and protect client reputation through timely, consistent messaging.
- Draft speeches, talking points, press releases, and briefing notes.
- Manage and mentor colleagues and review deliverables before client submission.
- Manage client accounts, advise client leadership, and identify opportunities to expand scope.
Qualifications and Experience
- A bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Political Science, International Relations, Journalism, or a related field is required.
- A master's degree is an advantage.
- Solid experience in strategic communications, public affairs, or government relations is required.
- Experience advising senior government or executive stakeholders on positioning, reputation, or crisis matters is required.
- Experience managing media relationships and executing communication strategies with measurable outcomes is required.
- Experience managing or mentoring junior team members and coordinating multi-workstream client accounts is required.
Skills and Competencies
- Strong strategic thinking and the ability to turn research and insight into client-ready recommendations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; Arabic fluency is essential.
- Sound judgment and composure under pressure, especially in crisis or reputationally sensitive situations.
- Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.
- Attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple accounts and deadlines.
- Cultural and political sensitivity in government and diplomatic environments.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; familiarity with media monitoring and research tools is a plus.
