Role overview

Essential experience

• At least 12 years of software development experience.
• At least 2 years of management or leadership experience with software development teams.
• Experience architecting technically sophisticated systems.
• Strong experience with Agile software development and enforcing technical best practices.
• Experience with manual and automated testing processes and architecture.
• Experience with the full software development lifecycle.

Technical qualifications

• Proficiency in Java, Spring, MVC patterns, Gradle, and Maven.
• Experience with one or more of jQuery, NodeJS, AngularJS, Ember, React, or equivalent web frameworks.
• Experience with Postgres and Oracle databases.
• Understanding of UI recommendations, software design and architectural patterns, and data modelling best practices.

Useful experience

• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes is useful.
• Management experience with public cloud providers such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud is useful.
• Experience managing a continuous integration and continuous delivery model is useful.

Primary responsibilities

• Organize, prioritize, and assign resources to deliver high-quality, testable, and scalable software within timelines.
• Lead project designs and enforce technical standards across supported environments.
• Lead project scoping and scheduling, track tasks, and escalate schedule concerns.
• Manage product quality through comprehensive functional, unit, and performance testing.
• Maintain accountability for the full code lifecycle and technical documentation.
• Coordinate with product management, marketing, sales, customers, and other stakeholders on product direction.

People leadership

• Provide technical leadership through mentoring, training, and management of team activities.
• Manage departmental teamwork, performance management, feedback, and professional growth.
• Motivate team members to function collaboratively and maintain delivery focus.

Candidate profile

• The candidate should have development and management experience in SaaS enterprise applications.
• The candidate should have strong organizing, prioritizing, delivery management, and people management skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and confidence engaging stakeholders are required.
