Role Overview

People Leadership

• Lead, mentor, and develop software engineers and quality engineering professionals.
• Conduct career development planning, coaching, performance discussions, and mentorship activities.
• Create a high-performance culture centered on accountability, collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
• Recruit, onboard, and retain engineering talent.
• Support associate-level employees through structured development plans and technical mentorship.

Software Delivery and Execution

• Manage delivery of web, mobile, backend, integration, and analytics initiatives.
• Collaborate with Product Management and Architecture to define and execute product roadmaps.
• Drive sprint planning, capacity planning, estimation, prioritization, and release activities.
• Balance feature development, technical debt reduction, modernization, and operational support requirements.
• Monitor delivery metrics and improve team effectiveness.

Technical Leadership

• Provide technical oversight across modern web applications, mobile applications, cloud-native services, and APIs.
• Promote best practices in software architecture, quality engineering, security, observability, and DevOps.
• Support initiatives using Angular, TypeScript, AWS Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, serverless architectures, and mobile frameworks.
• Collaborate with architects on technical direction and modernization strategies.

Quality and Stakeholder Engagement

• Champion automation-first quality practices, test automation, performance testing, and operational monitoring.
• Ensure solutions meet performance, reliability, scalability, and security expectations.
• Partner with Product Management, Professional Services, Customer Success, Sales Engineering, and Support.
• Communicate project status, technical risks, and delivery milestones to leadership stakeholders.
• Align engineering efforts with customer needs and business priorities.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
• 5-7 years of progressive experience in software development, software quality engineering, or technology delivery.
• At least 2 years of experience leading technical initiatives, developers, or cross-functional teams.
• Experience delivering customer-facing web or mobile applications.
• Experience working within Agile software development environments.
• Strong communication, leadership, stakeholder management, prioritization, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous people management experience.
• Experience leading distributed or global engineering teams.
• Experience developing cloud-native applications on AWS.
• Experience with Angular, mobile application development, serverless architectures, event-driven systems, CI/CD, and DevOps.
• Experience leading quality engineering and automation initiatives.
• Exposure to analytics, reporting, data platforms, or hospitality, restaurant, retail, or point-of-sale industries.
