A Typical Day in the Life Includes:
Work as part of cross functional, passionate agile development teams to ensure quality is driven into the heart of the development process from requirements definition through to delivery of highly concurrent system
Evangelize new testing methodologies, best practices, and tools with goals to continuously improve test coverage through automation
Proactively bringing issues and problems to the attention of the team, generating, proposing, and implementing innovative solutions to solve them
Be meticulous about documentation and maintain test cases and test results.
Designing, developing, and supporting frameworks for test infrastructure and providing automation expertise
Research, recommend and implement tools as needed with the goal of increasing automation
Ensure that all tests are executed and give regular feedback to the team lead on the status of quality
Work closely with the Product Management and Development Teams
Be a creative thinker who can quickly identify and test for functional ‘edge cases’ outside of expected functionality workflow
Test backend API's (REST and SOAP) and front-end UI applications
Mentor team members on automation
Willingness to work across time zones to interact with different stakeholders located across US west coast, Europe, and India and ready to work in shifts.
Willingness to work from office 5 days a week.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field
- 5+ years of experience as hands on Software QA/automation Engineer
- Strong programming/scripting ability in any language, preferably Java
- Thorough understanding of SDLC, specifically automated QA processes in agile development environments
- Experience in writing, executing, and monitoring automated test suites using a variety of technologies including, but not limited to, Selenium, Groovy, Junit, TestNG, SoapUI, RESTful Client
- Proficient with bug tracking and test management toolsets to support development processes
- Strong working knowledge of testing fundamentals such as TDD & BDD
- Expertise testing RESTful, SOAP web services in SOA system
- Working knowledge of Database concepts
- Demonstrated knowledge of CI/CD tools to integrate the Automation scripts
- Manual & Automation testing experience with Generative AI based Application.
- Strong experience in testing ETL, BI and SaaS solutions
- A high degree of self-motivation and flexibility with the ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks
- The ability to interact creatively and achieve results in a fast-moving, dynamic small company environment
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Domain knowledge in Business Intelligence or Data Analytics
- Prior experience working with systems such as ActiveMQ, MongoDB, Elastic-Search and nginx
- Prior experience with security protocols such as OAuth and SAML and related frameworks
- Working knowledge of virtualization and Infrastructure as Service solutions such as Amazon Web Services
- Building test infrastructures using containerization technologies such as Docker and working within continuous delivery / continuous release pipeline processes
- AI Tools & Adaptability: Proficiency in using AI tools for test generation, self-healing, and Automation. Being open to learning new AI tools and integrating them into QA workflows effectively. Leverage AI to enhance the testing processes and improve efficiency.
- ISTQB, CSQA or CSTE certified
