Role Overview
Provide hands-on leadership and direction to Zebra’s Electrical Engineering group.
Lead electrical design development, hardware and software debugging, product support, and technology implementation.
Engineering Leadership
- Oversee staffing, training, supervision, workload distribution, policy enforcement, performance evaluation support, and employee relations for engineers and technicians.
- Monitor engineering performance and develop design solutions that meet company direction and customer requirements.
- Use root cause analysis to solve problems and recommend product enhancements.
- Recommend and implement new hardware and software platforms, architectures, utilities, and technologies.
Design and Delivery
- Maintain existing electrical designs and coordinate efforts with the software group.
- Support manufacturing engineering with testing, assembly, and production activities.
- Write clear test procedures so DVT technicians can verify that designs meet product requirements.
- Ensure designs and processes meet quality standards and are delivered in a timely and cost-effective manner.
- Create project schedules, report status and issues, and maintain the department budget.
- Work with customers, engineering, Sales, Marketing, Quality, Service, and Manufacturing to translate requirements into solutions.
