Role Overview

Support the Environmental Health and Safety Management System and legal compliance with relevant local statutory requirements.

Build relationships with business leaders and promote health and safety across the region.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, update, and implement EHS programs and the EHS intranet.
  • Assist sites with EHS Management System implementation, audit preparation, and EHS audits.
  • Maintain EHS templates, training presentations, and program documentation.
  • Drive EHS improvements with business leaders against goals and objectives.
  • Review contractor Risk Assessments and Method Statements before planned work.
  • Develop regulatory risk assessments and report incidents to corporate leadership and external agencies.
  • Lead accident investigations, including logging, root-cause analysis, and corrective actions.
  • Maintain training matrices and arrange first aid, fire warden, induction, and other training.
  • Collaborate with Security, Crisis Management, Business Continuity, IT, Real Estate, and Facilities.
  • Manage event safety requirements, conduct site visits and risk assessments, and provide safety briefings.
  • Respond to emergencies, liaise with external agencies, and compile weekly EHS reports.

Professional Qualifications

  • NEBOSH International Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent is required.
  • A bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Risk Management, Life Sciences, Biology, or Chemistry is required.
  • Five to seven years of EHS-related work experience is required.
  • Prior experience developing and executing EHS-related training programs is required.
  • Biology or Chemistry degrees are strongly preferred.

  • Strong organization and prioritization skills with the ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Ability to solve problems independently, interpret regulations, and develop implementation guidance.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong technical knowledge, initiative, judgment, critical thinking, adaptability, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to negotiate and promote safety programs and services.
