Recovery Alberta has an exciting opportunity as a temporary Manager within our Forensic Community Justice Team. The Manager of Forensic Assessment and Community Services (FACS) in Edmonton is responsible for providing the direction and leadership of staff, as well as working collaboratively with the Community Medical Director, Forensic Outpatient Services, North. In this key leadership role, you will be accountable for the delivery of high-quality services in a dynamic and changing environment. As this is a 6 month temporary position and the programmatic structure in Recovery Alberta is evolving, specific program areas may be reassigned as needed.
Description:
The Manager acts as a leader to a wide variety of staff. Recruitment, orientation, training, performance evaluation and management are essential components of the position to ensure human resources meet the demands of these specialized services. Leading operational planning, quality improvement and evaluation ensures that resources are efficient and effective. As there are numerous psychiatrists also providing services within this site, the Manager acts as a key liaison for collaboration and consultation. The Manager will develop and maintain strong working relationships with Community Corrections, the Edmonton Mental Health Court and other partners to effectively meet the needs of a complex and diverse client population. Providing leadership in working with other partners such as Alberta Health Services, Health Shared Services, community and contracted agencies, as well as other Recovery Alberta programs are essential to the team’s success. Leading and monitoring the safety of staff, clients, physicians and others is critical, both within the office setting as well as the community where staff may provide off-site and outreach services. Financial management to ensure appropriate resource allocation and fiscal responsibility.

Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in a related health or management field. Registration with the applicable professional regulatory college in Alberta if eligible.
Minimum of 5 years of recent and relevant clinical, supervisory and/or leadership experience in a mental health and/or addictions setting.
Master’s degree in a relevant health or management field preferred. Training and experience in change management preferred.
