Role overview
Jobber is hiring a Manager, Data Engineering for its Data organization.
The role reports to the Director of Data and leads a team spanning Data and ML platforms.
The Data Integration team supports data ingestion, data activation, platform administration, self-service tooling, integrity, and governance.
Core responsibilities
- Manage team performance, individual growth, high-quality delivery, and team scaling.
- Own the strategy, roadmap, and delivery of scalable and cost-efficient data infrastructure.
- Ensure data systems are resilient, observable, secure, governed, and compliant.
- Partner with technical and cross-functional teams on roadmaps, technical decisions, product data, and workflow automation.
- Use AI tools to improve the data strategy and the capabilities of data tools.
Required qualifications
- Proven experience managing engineering teams, ideally in data engineering, with a record of delivering software and data solutions.
- Strong foundation in software and data engineering, distributed systems, orchestration, cloud infrastructure, scaling, and cost optimization.
- Hands-on experience with systems design, SQL, modern data tools, modeling, governance, and data quality.
