About Lucid

Lucid develops electric vehicles through vertically integrated design, engineering, production, and software-defined vehicle technologies.

The company describes a focus on performance, sustainability, design, engineering, and innovation in mobility.

Position Overview

The Engineering Manager leads the resident product engineering team supporting body structures, closures, and low-voltage harness systems across production vehicle programs.

The role focuses on production issue triage, containment, root cause analysis, corrective actions, and cross-functional escalation management.

Success includes clearer issue ownership, faster response to production concerns, fewer repeat issues, and stronger feedback between production and vehicle engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the resident product engineering organization, set priorities, balance workload, and develop engineers.
  • Own engineering triage for production and field concerns through problem definition, containment, root cause analysis, and corrective action.
  • Serve as the escalation point for build, assembly, quality, supplier, and manufacturing disruptions.
  • Coordinate engineering, manufacturing, production, quality, service, supply chain, purchasing, and program teams.
  • Support launch, ramp, and Safe Launch activities and improve resident engineering standard work and reporting.

Skills

  • Use structured problem-solving methods for complex product issues and corrective action verification.
  • Apply knowledge of vehicle structures, closures, and low-voltage electrical distribution systems.
  • Use DFMEA, DVP&R, DFM, DFA, PFMEA, Control Plans, APQP, PPAP, Safe Launch, 8D, PPS, or similar methods.
  • Use Jira, PLM, issue management systems, and production quality data.
  • Six Sigma Black Belt certification and collegiate FSAE or BAJA experience are preferred.

Minimum Qualifications

  • At least 10 years of automotive product engineering experience, including production, launch, sustaining, or resident engineering exposure.
  • A bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline is listed in the source qualification text.
