The Caring Place (@Miami Rescue Mission & Broward Outreach Centers) is a leading provider of services to the homeless and needy of South Florida. We are looking for like-minded, dynamic individuals to come and join our team. The Caring Place provides emergency shelter, residential programs, job training, education & computer literacy classes, healthcare, transitional housing, permanent housing, employment opportunities for homeless men, women, and children as well as programs for “at-risk” youth.
We are currently seeking a FT Maintenance Worker at the Broward Outreach Centers in Hollywood, FL,
JOB SUMMARY
The Maintenance Worker (MW) reports to the Maintenance Supervisor and maintains/repairs physical structures of buildings and grounds. The MW is responsible for completing all duties assigned in a timely and safe manner, at the lowest feasible cost.
CORE DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
- Performs preventative and routine maintenance and building repairs following OSHA guidelines and building codes as assigned by Maintenance Supervisor
- May lockout or tag out unsafe or broken equipment
- Performs minor repairs to building fixtures, performs minor plumbing repairs, cleans electrical fixtures and replaces bulbs, and performs touch-up painting
- Performs needed carpentry work. Receives work orders and prints or sketches for the job. Estimates material requirements and tools or equipment needed to perform job.
- Sets up and operates wood working tools to cut, form and finish material for the job. Erects or dismantles roofing or siding. Prepares irregular scaffolding that may be required.
