The Maintenance Technician keeps a multifamily community safe, functional, and well maintained.
The role diagnoses and repairs building and apartment systems, provides resident service, and supports preventive maintenance.
Maintenance Duties
- Diagnose and repair electrical, plumbing, HVAC, appliance, flooring, stair, railing, and other building issues.
- Correct unsafe conditions such as broken lights, damaged gates, open holes, and other hazards.
- Monitor and report building and security system condition, including automatic doors and surveillance cameras.
- Schedule and perform preventive maintenance on HVAC units, equipment, and building systems.
- Maintain supplies and spare parts inventory for work orders.
- Respond to on-call rotations and emergency maintenance situations.
- Provide professional service to residents and team members.
- Document completed work and report recurring issues or safety concerns.
Qualifications
- EPA certification, Type I, II, or Universal, is required.
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- 1–3+ years of experience in maintenance, facilities, or multifamily housing is required.
- Strong technical skills in electrical, plumbing, HVAC, appliance repair, and general building systems are required.
- Task prioritization, time management, problem solving, safe equipment operation, communication, and customer service are required.
- Physical work includes lifting, climbing ladders, and working indoors and outdoors in varied weather.
- Participation in on-call schedules and emergency response is required.
