Role Overview
Part-time Maintenance Assistant supporting hotel maintenance and facilities functions.
The role carries out planned and reactive maintenance across multiple building systems.
The postholder works under the Operations Manager or Day Manager and collaborates with Security.
Facilities and Repairs
- Inspect public and back-of-house areas daily.
- Repair plumbing, lighting, fixtures, fittings and general wear and tear.
- Complete Planned Preventative Maintenance tasks and respond promptly to maintenance tickets.
- Support heating, lighting and ventilation system upkeep.
- Repair fencing, gates, padlocks, door hardware and related access equipment.
Safety and Compliance
- Support weekly fire alarm tests and monthly emergency lighting checks.
- Keep fire exits, extinguishers and signage unobstructed and compliant.
- Follow water hygiene, PPE and safe waste disposal procedures.
- Assist with fire panel testing, emergency drills and safety equipment checks.
- Report hazards and compliance breaches immediately.
