Maintenance Assistant / Handyman

The Copthorne Hotel London Gatwick is seeking an experienced Maintenance Assistant/Handyman -Full Time to join our Maintenance team.

They will be responsible to maintain, repair services and equipment within the Hotel and grounds ensuring facilities are kept in operation and a safe working condition for our guests.

Schedule:

8 hour shift

Weekend availability

As Maintenance Assistant your key responsibilities include:

To maintain and repair services and equipment within the Hotel and grounds

To follow daily task list as issued by the Chief Engineer or Senior Shift Engineer

Carry out maintenance request orders eg plumbing tasks, changing light bulbs, minor electricals

To carry out PPM in all hotel areas, recognising faults and rectify them in a prompt and efficient manner

Provide a friendly and professional service to all guests when around the public areas or in bedrooms

Is responsible for the care and cleanliness of the Hotel engineering areas allocated i.e. workshop, plantrooms etc.

To ensure compliance with relevant and current legislation at all times whilst at work eg Health & Safety Policy, Fire Regulations

As Maintenance Assistant the essential skills required:

Plumbing and electrical skills advantageous

Keen eye for detail and able to work alone.

Knowledge of Health and Safety in the workplace

A team player who can manage own workload

Must be able to work flexible hours including weekends.
