Role Overview

The Low Current Engineer designs, installs, tests, commissions, operates, and maintains low-current systems for commercial, residential, industrial, and infrastructure projects.

The systems must comply with project specifications, industry standards, and client requirements.

Design and Engineering

  • Design and develop low-current systems according to project requirements.
  • Prepare system layouts, schematics, and shop drawings.
  • Review project specifications, BOQs, and technical documents.
  • Select suitable equipment and materials based on project needs.
  • Ensure compliance with local regulations and international standards.

Installation and Implementation

  • Supervise installation and integration of low-current systems.
  • Coordinate with contractors, consultants, and other engineering disciplines.
  • Monitor project progress and ensure timely completion.
  • Conduct site inspections and quality control checks.

Testing and Commissioning

  • Perform system testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning.
  • Verify system functionality and performance.
  • Prepare commissioning reports and handover documentation.
  • Provide technical support during system startup and operation.

Systems Typically Managed

  • Fire alarm, CCTV and video surveillance, access control, and intrusion detection systems.
  • Public address and voice evacuation, structured cabling, data networks, and wireless systems.
  • Building management, audio-visual, intercom, gate barrier, and parking management systems.
  • Nurse call and emergency call systems.

Minimum Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Control and Instrumentation Systems Engineering.
  • Experience as a Control System SIS Trainee Engineer.
