Role Overview
The Logistics Manager manages, plans, and controls logistics operations within a construction or infrastructure project.
The role covers equipment management, transportation, site access, material flow, cost control, project schedules, HSE requirements, and client standards.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and implement the project logistics plan in line with the project schedule and construction sequence.
- Coordinate material deliveries with construction, procurement, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Manage site access and traffic control and monitor material availability to prevent project delays.
- Plan equipment allocation, ensure machinery and operator safety, and maintain equipment utilization and downtime records.
- Evaluate logistics subcontractors and ensure compliance with HSE policies, lifting plans, traffic plans, and toolbox talks.
Academic Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, logistics, supply chain, or a related field.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in construction logistics for major infrastructure or civil projects.
- Strong knowledge of fleet management, lifting operations, and site logistics planning.
Skills and Tools
- Proficiency in MS Office, ERP systems, and logistics tracking software.
- Knowledge of heavy equipment movement and site traffic control.
- Strong leadership, decision-making, organization, multitasking, communication, and coordination skills.
- Ability to work under pressure in a dynamic site environment.
