Responsibilities
- Maintain and update the vehicle and machinery list and manage their allocation on a daily basis.
- Ensure required equipment or vehicles are assigned promptly without operational lag
- Ensure all the fleet undergo periodic maintenance
- Ensure site transport vehicle schedules are maintained and rearranged to best utilize the resources
- Maintain Log sheets of vehicle usage and highlight to the management of any wrong practices
- Ensure machinery test certificates are renewed every year
- Assist with preparing leave plans and reviewing of times sheets of driver and operators
- Negotiate rental agreements for hiring vehicles
- Coordinate arrangement of material delivery, diesel distribution, waste collection & disposal from and to sites and respective authorities or suppliers.
- Monitor GPS records and highlight wrong practices and guide drivers and managers on corrective actions
- Work with drivers and operators with conflict resolutions if any needed and work towards engaging them at work
- Develop strategies for greater fuel efficiency and guide drivers on optimum fuel consumption
- Coordinate vehicle renewals, insurance renewals, and any other permit applications
- Report any accidents/insurance claims in coordination with logistics and fleet management at the group level
- Maintain and update the logistics module in Navision
- Keep on top of all regulations pertaining to vehicles and machinery in different Emirates
- Keep track of all the machinery at the sites and ensure the cost is booked at the correct projects
- Ensure that machinery is not sitting idle at the site
- Prepare reports on waste collections, diesel distribution, fuel allocation, cost allocations etc and any other reports requested
- Perform all other duties assigned by the line manager
Qualification
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role
- Higher Secondary or above education preferred
- Ability to work with people at various levels from workshop to senior management
