- Perform kernel level hardening and configure SELinux policies
- Design and manage automated patching workflows using Ansible and Red Hat Satellite
- Monitor patch compliance and generate reports for audits and governance
- Minimize downtime during patching through careful planning and high availability strategies
- Maintain and administer Linux based servers in enterprise environments
- Support troubleshooting for patch related or system performance issues
- Ensure systems comply with internal IT/security policies and regulatory requirements
- Maintain documentation of patch status, system configurations, and automation scripts
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or related field
- 5 8 years of experience in Linux system administration in enterprise infrastructure environments
- Strong hands on experience with OS patching and system hardening in large scale production environments
- Experience with SELinux configuration and troubleshooting
- Proficiency in Shell scripting (Bash) and automation
- Experience with configuration management tools (Ansible, Satellite)
- Familiarity with CIS Benchmarks and DISA STIG frameworks
- Experience in regulated industries (e.g., banking) is preferred
- Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) or equivalent certification preferred

Role Purpose
- The Linux Administrator is responsible for managing and securing enterprise Linux environments, ensuring systems are patched, hardened, and compliant with industry standards such as CIS Benchmarks and DISA STIGs.
- The role focuses on OS level patching, kernel hardening, SELinux enforcement, and automation of patch orchestration, ensuring minimal downtime across large scale, business critical environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute OS level security patching across Linux environments (RHEL, CentOS, etc.)
- Align patching processes with CIS Benchmarks and DISA STIG standards
- Ensure timely identification and remediation of vulnerabilities
- Monitor patch compliance and generate reports for audits and governance
- Perform kernel level hardening to enhance system security
- Configure and enforce SELinux policies across environments
- Implement secure configurations in line with enterprise security standards
- Identify and remediate system misconfigurations and vulnerabilities
- Design and manage automated patching workflows using Ansible and Red Hat Satellite
- Develop playbooks and automation scripts for patch deployment, configuration management, and routine maintenance
- Minimize downtime during patching through careful planning and high availability strategies
- Perform system monitoring and proactive maintenance
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Systems Engineering or related field
- 5–8 years of experience in Linux system administration in enterprise infrastructure environments
- Strong hands on experience with OS patching and system hardening in large scale production environments
- Experience in regulated industries (e.g., banking) is preferred

- Strong expertise in Linux OS (RHEL, CentOS, Oracle Linux, etc.)
- System hardening and security best practices
- Experience with SELinux configuration and troubleshooting
- Kernel tuning and hardening techniques
- Configuration management tools (Ansible, Satellite)
