Licensed Practical Nurse

Licensed Practical Nurse on a 28-bed surgery inpatient unit. Nursing staff on 6 East provide safe and compassionate care for patients primarily under the Orthopaedic Surgery Service as well as other surgical services and medicine off-service patients. Opportunity to work in a fast-paced team environment, performing a wide variety of nursing assessments, interventions and evaluations. The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) works as a member of the multidisciplinary health care team, collaborating in the delivery of holistic care and support to patients/residents and families. The LPN practices to full scope, applying professional nursing knowledge, clinical judgment, critical thinking, and communication skills to support safe care and positive health outcomes. The role is committed to providing person-centred, culturally safe, and inclusive care that respects the diverse backgrounds, experiences, values, and needs of patients/residents and families. The LPN contributes to a culture of learning and professional practice excellence by orienting, coaching, mentoring, and supporting the development of staff, students, and learners.
