Job Description

Eaglesfield Paddle Primary Academy are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join their team for an immediate start!

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting children's learning, development and wellbeing and who would enjoy working as part of a supportive school team.

The Role

Under the supervision of teachers and senior staff, you will support teaching, learning and the care of pupils across the school. You will work with individuals and small groups of pupils, helping to support their educational, social, emotional and physical development.

You will play an important role in creating an inclusive, safe and positive learning environment where all pupils are encouraged to achieve their potential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support teachers in delivering planned learning activities and programmes, adapting activities where appropriate to meet individual pupils' needs.
  • Work with individual pupils and small groups to support their learning, progress and development.
  • Assist teachers with monitoring, assessing and recording pupil progress and behaviour.
  • Provide appropriate feedback and encouragement to pupils regarding their attainment and progress.
  • Prepare and organise classroom resources and materials to support lessons and activities.
  • Support pupils' social, emotional and physical wellbeing, reporting any concerns to the appropriate member of staff.
  • Promote positive behaviour, independence and inclusion throughout the school.
  • Supervise and support pupils both inside and outside the classroom, including educational visits and other school activities.
  • Prepare and maintain learning areas and classroom displays.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, support staff and other professionals to meet pupils' individual needs.
  • Communicate appropriately with staff, parents/carers and external agencies where required.
  • Follow all school policies and procedures, including safeguarding, health and safety, confidentiality and data protection.
  • Encourage pupils to take responsibility for their own behaviour and develop their independence.
  • Assist with the organisation and maintenance of classroom resources and equipment.
